You need to explain the basics, like the type of stone, the colour, clarity, size and carat weight. These are features. But, you also have to put yourself into the head of the buyer and imagine what he or she is thinking. What are the benefits?
You don’t buy a toaster because it is 32 cm long. You buy it because it makes the best toast possible.
With gemstones, some buyers are collectors, some are having a piece of jewellery made, some buy as an investment and some buy to resell. In every case though they are buying because it is cheap. This will get you many repeat customers, which forms the foundation of your business.
